Excerpts from Reflections
from the
Children of  Morgan Howard School
When I was at Sprout Creek, my favorite thing to do was playing with the animals, experiencing the wilderness, milking the cows and goats and working hard and getting things done.  I liked helping everybody to get things done faster.  We went on a night hike and we heard and saw different kinds of critters, also we saw bats gliding above the water.
...I would like to talk about the things I felt during the trip.  What I felt was a mysterious feeling and it felt good.  It took me a while to figure out what the feeling was but then all of a sudden it was there.  The feeling was that I felt as if I belonged at the farm.  I felt it as soon as I walked off the bus…

...The first day I felt that the farm was just a place where smelly country bumpkins got together to milk some goats.  But by the second day I realized how much work they  put into this farm and how much they must love the animals.  And at the end of the day I felt tired but happy because I knew I had done a good job and deserved a good night’s sleep…

...It felt really good to be there if you get homesick.  It is a great place to get over it.  The reason it is such a great place to go and get over being homesick is because it is such a homey place, and everyone makes you feel as if they’ve known you your whole life.
...One of the things you have to know to live on a farm is how to get along with others, meaning not getting in fights and working together.  I think one can’t live on a farm without working together which makes it the most fun.
