Back to Sprout Creek Farm

Eyes open

to see a cow being milked

to watch potatoes being hilled

to stare at an open, starry sky

Ears open

To hear a rooster cry

To listen to a pig’s noisy snorting

To catch the buzzing of bees

Nose open

to smell fresh lavender, chives and basil

to whiff the stench of manure

to inhale sweet flower’s scents

Mouth open to taste the intensity of stevia

to chew on wild lemon hearts

to swallow homemade bread and silky milk

Hands open to pet the smooth Nubian coat

to feel the cool, racing creek

Heart open

to make new friends, both with hands and hooves

Mind open

to take risks

to challenge oneself

to be at peace
