| Here at Sprout Creek Farm, children connect with the land, the animals, each other, and most importantly, themselves.
Sprout Creek Farm is a place of rural beauty where a community of experienced teachers and farmers live and teach year-round. They place special emphasis on fostering cooperation skills, offering real farm experiences, and giving young people the opportunity to learn by doing things themselves. |
| YEAR-ROUND PROGRAMS |
| Our year-round residential programs offer 10 to 18-year-olds the opportunity to learn from each other and the staff, but just as importantly, to learn from cows, sheep, pigs, plants, and the land itself. Young people step back from their fast-paced lives and develop a better understanding of their special connection to the local and global community. They feed and care for the animals, tend the garden, listen to nature, build and repair farm facilities, cook meals from the fruits of their labor, and share those meals in a local soup kitchen. We offer day and overnight options; we also have a number of pre-designed programs, or we can customize one for your group. If you are a part of the Sacred Heart Network, we also offer network programs. |
| SUMMER PROGRAMS |
| The day programs are open to boys and girls, ages 6-11. The Sleepover Programs are open to girls 10-12 and 13-14, and 15-16. Enrollment is limited in order to give each child maximum contact with the animals and individual attention from the staff. Groups bake in our fully-equipped kitchen, participate in animal chores, and work in our extensive organic gardens. |
| SATURDAY PROGRAMS |
| Open to boys and girls ages 6-11, each Saturday is filled with the seasonal tasks of the farm. As the fall harvest season comes to a close, students learn how to put the garden to rest for the winter, can fruits and vegetables, and turn tomatoes into a delicious sauce. Spring brings new life – baby calves and goats – as well as seed planting, baking, and animal chores. |
| SPONSOR A CAMPER |
At Sprout Creek Farm, we receive many requests for financial aid. You can help a child attend one of our programs by adding a small donation to your tuition check if your child is attending our camp or programs. You can also go to Network for Good and designate "Camper Scholarship." Your gift is tax deductible and will be added to other gifts dedicated to scholarship aid.
