A Letter To Our Friends and Supporters
Dear Friends,
Sustainability is a buzzword more and more people are learning. It has real punch. It isn’t
just a word but a goal to be met—a necessary, compelling, and reachable goal. To reach this
goal requires hard work, sharp focus, unwavering attention, planning, critical thinking,
discipline, commitment, responsibility, and a working — that is to say functional —
intelligence. Oh my.
Think about the challenge. You decide. You have a discernible long-term goal that is
possible to achieve little by little, in your own time. You get to achieve it through
connecting with other people. You can know where you are in the process most of the time. You
can still weigh all your options. Your children can be important contributors because they
don’t yet know ‘the box’ and can still think outside the ones we create. You know they like
being part of something essential. You can divvy up the responsibilities so no one is over-burdened with it all. You will find untapped potential in everyone. You can be simple without
being simple-minded! Everyone is valued. Everyone is included. Sustainability.
Here at Sprout Creek Farm we teach children to think about life differently — sustainably. We’ve been doing it for 25 years. What you give to Sprout Creek farm this year helps us to be
sustainable so that we can continue to offer the kinds of programs that truly affect a child’s
life.
Sprout Creek Farm is a tool for life: it educates, creates community,
re-vitalizes the spirit, produces healthy food, preserves open space,
promotes agriculture, and re-connects
ALL OF US TO ALL THAT IS TRULY IMPORTANT.
Thank you for your gift.
Warmest regards,
Margo Morris, rscj
