Sprout Creek Hot Mudd

What better way to celebrate the fall than with a steaming cup of mud from the creek?  Made with Hudson Valley milk and farm-fresh eggs, it can’t be beat! 

3 tbs cocoa powder (mixed with ¼ cup water to make syrup)
1 tbs corn starch
4 farm-fresh egg yolks
1 tsp vanilla
1 gallon whole milk
½ cup granulated sugar
½ cup brown sugar

Blend cocoa mixture with corn starch, egg yolks and vanilla.

Heat milk to 150°F.  Whisk in sugars.

Pour 2 cups of warm milk into cocoa syrup and whisk together.  Pour the mixture back into the milk and bring to 160°F while stirring.
