Farm Bread
Ingredients:
5 cups flour
1 tsp yeast
1 tsp sugar
1 tsp maple syrup
3 tsp salt
3/4 cup warm water
1. In a small bowl, mix warm water, sugar, malple syrup, and yeast. Let stand for 10 minutes or until frothy.
2. In a large bowl, sift together flour and salt.
3. Combine yeast mixture with flour mixture.
4. Gradually add more water and mix until dough forms a cohesive lump.
5. Turn dough out onto a floured surface and knead for 7-10 minutes.
6. Place dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp towel, and leave in a warm area to rise for one hour.
7. Punch down dough, split into 2 loaves, and place in greased bread pans. Cover and let rise for an additional 45 minutes.
8. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes or until loaves are slighlty browned on top.
9. Serve warm.
